In 2000, the event became known as the show ‘where the marine business does business.’ The show supports the marine industry by being a member of – and providing representation on – various marine organisation boards including Boating Industry Association of Queensland (now Marine Queensland), Australian Marine Industry Federation (now the Boating Industry Alliance Australia), Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX), and Super Yacht Base Australia (now Superyacht Australia).
Recreational boating increasingly became the dream of many Australians, accelerating industry growth at around 6% per annum. In 2000, the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show expanded exponentially to accommodate the plethora of Australian and imported products appearing to satisfy the dreams of many visitors.
